ERIC GRALD and JOHN GOINGSLaser system reduces cycle time and laminate rework Large-volume Department of Defense (DoD) aerospace programs utilize automated fiber placement (AFP) and automated tape placement (ATP) machines to lay up large area structural composites using toughened bismaleimide (BMI) resins. The BMI prepreg composite is placed onto a tool, often over a period of several days, and then the component is bagged and cured in an autoclave to produce the part. Current fiber placement machines operate in large, open factories at room temperature. The BMI resin most commonly used in AFP has relatively poor tack at room temperature, leading to slower laminating speeds and the need for considerable manual rework. Current approaches to achieve the heating step (hot gas jets or large multi-kilowatt infrared [IR] heaters) limit prepreg feed rates, offer no control of the thermal profile, are thermally inefficient, and lead to significant AFP downtime. The ability to increase prepreg feed rates to the maximum possible associated with the AFP system would dramatically reduce overall production costs. Increased control of the thermal profile will eliminate hand-rework operations associated with unique geometric features.[Native Advertisement]
Does your website have a contact page? I’m having problems locating it but, I’d like to shoot you an email. I’ve got some ideas for your blog you might be interested in hearing. Either way, great website and I look forward to seeing it develop over time.
as if its an unwanted by product of the device.. and not *the very medium* used for it to do its bloody job. (not that the sticker does dick, but still the lack of thought process here is incredible.)
Michael Simon covers all things mobile for PCWorld and Macworld. You can usually find him with his nose buried in a screen. The best way to yell at him is on Twitter.
That’s just not right because you use a lot of sensors to measure performance data, both from the crankset, gears, shifters, and the rider himself. A lot of modern bikes also use Shimano Di2 shifting which is entirely electrical and more precise than normal gears (and I am pretty sure they are legal for competitive usage).
Growing up my mother had Corelle dishes, and they broke at the drop of a dime it seemed. And when they did they turned into super thin “cat claw” shaped shards that went everywhere ( mostly in peoples feet ). I’d rather have ceramic that break into larger chunks myself than glass that’s supposed to bounce, but when it doesn’t it is weaponized.
I am glad no one took any photos of the residents in question. The photographer would have likely been burned at the stake for stealing their souls.

He said a big step forward would be developing more information on metal additive materials through the technical committee process to make metal AM a more viable process for small to midsize companies.
Enjoyed studying this, very good stuff, appreciate it. “We swallow greedily any lie that flatters us, but we sip little by little at a truth we find bitter.” by Denis Diderot.
